When he touched a stranger’s hand, protesting the ban on human connection, he was banished to The Sinking Place. He finally has the courage to fight for what he believes in, now that it’s too late. He is rebellious and bold, for the first time in his life.
CHARLOTTE TAYLOR (19-23)

Charlotte was a wild teenager, always chasing an adrenaline rush and doing anything to rebel against authority. However in her first year at college, her mother died from cancer, and Charlotte returned home. Soon after, the totalitarian regime took over and banned all human connection. Charlotte resisted by secretly seeing her boyfriend, but when she became pregnant, she had to go into hiding. She was eventually found and separated from her child. Now she resides in The Sinking Place, hopeless and weak.
