Looking for an actor for ‘What’s Up Alfie? – a performance and workshop exploring mental health for children in Key Stage 1.

Looking for an actor who is:

• Available from 7am-4pm during weekdays (with possible overnight stays)

• Willing to undergo the DBS process or hold a DBS/CRB form issued within the last 18 months (we can arrange for a DBS form at your expense)

• Based in the North West (Essential)

Rehearsals: Monday 29th January 23rd- Friday 2nd February 2024 (5 days)

Tour: Monday 5th February – Friday 16th February 2024 (Weekdays only)

Fee: £500.00 per week. Weekdays only (possible Sunday travel)

Casting for a theatre production which will be shown in May 2024. Rehearsals will be in Manchester (UK) and will start end of February/early March.

‘One’
Female
Age: 21-40
Billie is kind and full of life, she always sees the good in people and the positive of any situation. Having her daughter was the best thing to ever happen to her and she embraced every moment of motherhood. Billie finds her daughter unresponsive in her cot the day after her first birthday which leads to her being at the hospital.

‘Two’
Any gender
Age: 25-40
‘Two’ is a strong person who makes bold choices and stands by them. They are loyal but fierce in their opinions and will do anything to protect their own. They were brought up in a working class household facing many struggles including alcoholism and domestic violence. They have just lost a patent with whom they had a toxic relationship which head lead to them being at the hospital.

‘Three’
Any gender
‘Three’ has had a long battle with mental illness. They don’t have a great relationship which their family and have been in and out of various medical facilities throughout their life. They have a belief that there are birds following them. They have had a particularly bad time lately which has lead to them being in the hospital.

‘Ensemble’
Any age
Any gender
To play the general public in the opening sequence.
