NAT | Lead female. Early to mid-30s. Non-specified ethnicity.

Nat is eager to help her long-time friend, Lily,  have a baby. Since Lily can’t conceive herself, Nat agrees to be her egg donor. At the same time, Nat hopes to have a baby of her own but  suffers a miscarriage, leading her to confront the trauma that follows.

LILY | Lead female. Early to mid-30s. Non-specified ethnicity.

Lily desperately wants a baby, but after early onset menopause, she can no longer conceive. In her quest for motherhood, she asked her oldest friend Nat—someone she deeply admires—to be her egg donor. Nat happily agreed, and now Lily is in her third trimester, eagerly awaiting the arrival of her baby.

GABE | Supporting male. Mid to late 30s or early 40s. Non-specified ethnicity.

Gabe is supportive of his wife, Lily, and is excited about their upcoming baby, but he’s often unaware and slow to catch on in social situations. At times, his role as an expectant father seems limited to simply providing his sperm.

AUNT SOPHIE | Supporting female. 50s. Non-specified ethnicity.

Aunt Sophie is a nosy, chatty, and excited soon-to-be aunt to Lily and Gabe’s baby. She has a knack for making Nat increasingly uncomfortable during the baby shower with her probing questions and overzealous enthusiasm.

A lively group of friends and family gathered for Lily and Gabe’s baby shower, celebrating the upcoming arrival with laughter, games, presents, and more.
