CAST BIOS/SIDES:
Michelle (all ethnicities, 35-55ish) is a veteran casting director who built a reputation for discovering young actresses, particularly in romantic comedies and teen movies. After several years of mainstream success, she finds herself increasingly pushed to the sidelines, working on smaller-budget, less prestigious films. A feminist in college who once dreamed of acting herself, Michelle has become hardened and cynical after decades in entertainment, and now sees it as her duty to inform other naive young actresses about what it actually takes to be successful.

David (all ethnicities, 40-60ish) is an experienced, middle aged director who broke into the industry many years ago with an edgy, sensual, improbably successful indie film. None of his subsequent films have received as much acclaim, and these days he merely pays the bills as a director for hire on B-list romantic dramas and schlocky action films. He’s no longer artistically invested in his work, but he still aims to cast attractive young actors in his latest film in order to cling to what little power he has left.
