Casting an open-to-union NYU thesis film. The shooting will take place from March 29th to March 31st in the Tri-state area, and callbacks will be held during the morning of March 3rd as well as the afternoon of March 10th in New York, New York.
Casting for the following roles:
Junior (17): Lead, male-presenting, Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian.
A resentful and emotionally-repressed teenager who has to decide if having a relationship with his formerly-abusive father is worth it.
Reymund (50-55): Lead, male-presenting, Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian. A first-generation immigrant who is no longer in touch with his family from his homeland or his own children. He struggles to take accountability for his oppressive parenting style.
Christina (45-49): Supporting, female-presenting, Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian. The matriarch of the family who does everything in her power to prevent familial conflict after regretting her controlling nature of the past.
Faith (20-25): Supporting, female-presenting, Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian. The former “black sheep” of the family who has done a complete 180 after becoming a new mother herself and has a new appreciation for her demanding upbringing.
Younger Junior (4): Supporting, male-presenting, Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian. A soft-spoken and rule-abiding child who views the world as good and bad, often finding himself in the latter in his temperamental father’s eyes.
Amihan (1): Supporting, any gender, Southeast Asian/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian. An easily-disturbed baby who represents the start of a new generation everyone is afraid to corrupt.
