Casting Call for a UT Austin Directing Workshop

MFA student at UT Austin and need 2 actors for a short 3-5 minute scene. The scene I have chosen in from “The Master” (Paul Thomas Anderson).

Roles:

Freddie, male (20-25)

A lost soul just floating through life. He is the definition of fragile masculinity: always sizing himself up to the people around him, trying to sound more impressive than he is, and is used to solving problems with his fists. After stumbling on a yacht during a violent night of drinking, he is confronted by the ship’s commander and must decide how to comport himself.

The Master, male (35-55)

A charismatic cult leader. He’s got a sly tongue and is used to getting what he wants from people through verbal manipulation. He always stays calm and collected and is used to being the smartest person in the room. When he finds a stowaway on his yacht, he sees an opportunity to recruit them for the cult and to use them to help feed his vice for drinking.
