A Dark Eye in the Day
CASTING CALL
ROLES:
CONNOR (20s): Uses humour to counter act his loneliness. Misses a past that was flawed yet more complete than the limbo he’s trapped in now. Has to deal with the turmoil of doubting whether his girlfriend was ever real as he’s the only one who could remember her after she disappeared. When she arrives at his back door, he is relieved that this person, who became just a memory, is real. As the night unfolds, he must come to terms with the fact that their past wasn’t perfect and whether he would still risk it all for her or continue a life of confused solitude.
EVELYN (20s): Strong minded but gentle. When she sets her mind to something, she will pursue it; often to the detriment of others as she pushes them away (such as Connor). After spending three years lost in a dark, nameless place, she imagined her relationship with Connor as something it was not. Something she could depend on. She must come to terms with the fact that she can’t expect him to run away with her and continue a love she believed was never lost.
BROGNITH (30-60): Sinister, playful, malicious, tall demonic presence who steals the eyes of his victims and replaces them with his own. Needs an eerily soft, calm voice that evokes a sinister playfulness. Movements of Brognith are strange and other worldly, almost a dance. Will have MAKE UP and PROSTHETICS applied to the body to create the character.
